Burwood White Suffolk Stud was founded in 1987 based on genetics from the highly successful Burwood Suffolk Stud. Breeding aims were complimented by the addition of two Elouera rams from J Treasure (WS 6). One of these rams E34/87 went on to sire the first Royal White Suffolk Champion (Galaxy Park 429/90) for G & J Gale. In 1991 the entire Jacks Well White Suffolk Stud (WS 49)was acquired from Verrall & Sons.

Over the years Burwood has had much success exhibiting predominantly at the Adelaide Royal.In 1998 Burwood achieved Supreme Champion All Breeds Ram at the Royal Adelaide Show with "Titan" 904/97 and received the highest price in Australia for a meat breed ram at $10000.In 2000 Burwood once again topped the Elite Sale at the Royal Adelaide Show selling Braveheart 1206/99 for $9500. In 2001 another Australian record price was achieved with the sale of a White Suffolk Ram Lamb (a son of "Titan") Burwood "Hercules" 1465/00 for $7000 to New Zealand.

Burwood have always bred their rams with commercial qualities using Lambplan as an objective tool to select animals with the right balance of EBV's concentrating on growth, positive muscle and leanness. 2007 proved to be a successful one for the Burwood Stud at Adelaide Royal exhibiting 5 rams and winning 4 ribbons including Reserve Champion Ram B4123/06 who later sold for $4500 and also successfully attaining the second highest price at the Adelaide Elite Sale for Accelerator 729/06 for $17500.
